TPAC Consultant, writer and artist Mary Anne Golden with Ray Bradbury, writer and playwright extraordinaire at his limousine, appropriately named, F451! Ray was recognized for his plays and poems by the Shakespeare Award Team in October of 2010 in a private draping ceremony at his home in Cheviot Hills, West Los Angeles, California.
Ray kissed the sliver Shakespeare medallion and said, "This is one of the best days of my life!" It was for us, too!
In honor of being the recipient of the Shakespeare Award, Ray wrote a poem. On learning that William Shakespeare and the other literary giant of the day, Spaniard Cervantes (Man of La Mancha) had both died on the same day, Ray gave a wonderful poem to the Shakespeare Awards Team.
This poem was read by Steve Norris at the Spring 2011 reading.
We love you Ray and miss you. You are the original Big Bang Theory, and a fun lively spirit, which was and is an inspiration to millions - writers and not!
The Shakespeare Awards are a friendly competition to encourage and inspire new and experienced playwrights and poets who live in Los Angeles County, California.
"IF music and sweet poetry agree,
As they must needs, the sister and the brother,
Then must the love be great 'twixt thee and me, Because thous lovest one, and I the other."
W. Shakespeare,
Passionate Pilgrim
