Dee Hardison
Award
The Dee Hardison Award is named for the former Mayor of Torrance, Dee Hardison. The award was established in 1999, and recognizes the former Mayor's outstanding support of the performing arts in Torrance. The Torrance Performing Arts Consottium was created while Dee Hardison was Mayor. A former councilperson, Hardison's contributions to the local visual and performing arts, was established with the with the building of the Torrance Cultural Arts Center. Hardison fostered a community spirit and precedent that continues in the South Bay communities, and Los Angeles County, California.
The prestigious Dee Hardison Award is given annually to an individual or organization has made a unique and valuable contribution in support of the performing arts community.
Dee Hardison poses with beautiful bronze busts of Beethoven that are also given to recipients of the annual award.
